Actually, I still don't quite understand why TWRP asks for a password after installation on certain devices and TWRP versions.
Some say this is one of the protections that prevent users from accessing data even through TWRP, but some say this is a bug in TWRP itself.

How to solve TWRP for asking Password/Internal 0 MB Xiaomi
This tutorial consists of 3 ways, I'll just mention that each method has its own advantages and disadvantages
1. Enter password / PIN / screen pattern
The advantage of this method is that you will not lose your data
What password was asked? Password here is the password/PIN or pattern on your smartphone's lock screen.
If successful, it will look like this.
but I don't use password / PIN or pattern?
- Go to home screen (system reboot);
- Then set the desired password/4-digit PIN;
- Reinstall TWRP and when TWRP asks for a password, enter the Password/4-digit PIN you created earlier.
It turns out that on the home screen it also asks for a password, please do step 2 or 3.
I'm using a template, how do I remember the password?
Ok, the image on the left is an example of your template.
Imagine the imaginary number on the right of the picture, the password to enter is 7412.
Note!
This method worked on some of my Xiaomi devices but failed on Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kenzo) with TWRP Non UBL. So try it on your device, if it fails, go to step 2 or 3
2. Do Not Wipe » Factory Reset This
step is easier and its success rate is high. The downside is that the mobile app will disappear.
1. Re-enter TWRP and select Wipe;
2. Next, swipe to factory reset;
3. Then restart the system.
Until then, the mobile phone must not ask for the password again.
3. Using the fastboot command
The toolkit compiled below can be used to flash TWRP using the fastboot command.
Toolkit can be used on all types of Xiaomi devices that can enter fastboot mode and have an unlocked bootloader or running TWRP Non UBL.
High success rate but data and applications are lost. That's why I always recommend backing up your data before installing TWRP.
Requirements :
- Original or good quality USB cable;
- computers/laptops with Windows 7 or newer operating system;
- Bootloader is already unlocked or installed TWRP Non UBL.
Required materials:
- Install minimal ADB and Fastboot and Xiaomi Android USB Driver (useful as ADB / Bootloader Interface driver and fastboot command);
- ToolKitTWRP-Pass_v2.0.zip Download - 709KB | Google Drive | (Extract and put in C:\ drive or folder without spaces).
Steps:
1. Connect Smartphone to PC/Laptop in Fastboot Mode;
2. Extract ToolKitTWRP-Pass_v2.0.zip folder without spaces, then right click » Run as administrator on DoubleKlikAku.bat;
3. Enter the number "1" and press enter;
4. Next, follow the instructions in the toolkit.;
Once the process is complete, press the Power + Vol Up button to enter TWRP.
5. At this point, TWRP should no longer ask for a password.
Case examples..!
After installing ROM I can't go to home screen before installing no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip because my mobile Phone can boot when internal storage can't be read.
What should I do?
1. Wipe » Factory settings;
2. Then Reboot » Recovery;
3. Your device will reboot some time and go back to TWRP.
As of now, TWRP no longer asks for a password and you can use internal memory.
1. Next, copy the no-verity-opt-encrypt-.zip file to your internal storage while in TWRP recovery;
2. Tap Install and select the no-verity-opt-encrypt-.zip file you copied earlier.
3. Swipe to "Swipe to confirm flashing";
4. Wait for the installation process to finish with "...done".
If so, select Reboot System.
