How to Update / Change TWRP to Latest Version
TWRP is the most popular android custom recovery today compared to CWM and others. This is of course inseparable from the many built-in features and simplicity of TWRP itself.
TWRP Official is actually made by Team Win Recovery Project, although so many TWRPs are customized by Android developers, such as BY-XM's TWRP, TWRP Cofface, TWRP Javeline..
..and recently, TWRP RedWOLF is on the rise. .
Now, if you want to replace or update TWRP version to the latest or custom version, follow these instructions.
Update/Change TWRP to the latest version
There are 3 different ways to change TWRP, check it out...
1. With your existing TWRP
This first step is the easiest, just install the TWRP image file, which you have currently installed TWRP.
TWRP recovery files always have an .img extension, as in the following example...
Once you have the desired TWRP file, copy it to your internal storage.
1. Enter TWRP,
2. select Install;
3. Tap the Install Image button and select the recovery.img file you copied earlier.
4. Next, select the recovery partition (don't make a wrong choice...);
5. wipe directly under "Swipe to Confirm Flash";
6. Wait for the process to complete and click Back to return to the TWRP home page.
7. Then select Reboot » Recovery;
8. Devices will reboot for some time and come back to TWRP with the latest version or some other version depending on what you installed before.
9. Done.
9. Done.
2. Via Flashable with .zip
In addition to TWRP, the .img extension also has TWRP compiled to have a .zip extension so that it can be installed as usual. For example, I have TWRP RedWolf flashable via amog787.zip file.
Replacing TWRP with a flash-compatible TWRP is quite simple:
1. Copy the zip file to internal storage;
2. Enter TWRP and then select Install;
3. Tap the TWRP ZIP file;
4. Next Swipe to confirm flash;
5. When you're done, don't reboot system yet, go back to the TWRP home page;
6. Select Reboot » Recovery;
8. Done.
Up to this step TWRP flash with flash zip is complete.
