  • Intermediate boot loop » when enabled, the mobile can only freeze until it reaches the MI logo, but can still go to the recovery / CWM / TWRP menu;
  • Hard boot loop » when powered on, the mobile can only stay until it reaches the MI logo, but cannot access the recovery/CWM/TWRP menu.

Troubleshooting!

Failed to enter EDL mode

There was a bug where the "fastboot oem edl" command would not work in certain cases. The reason may be that the command is not recognized or sometimes Xiaomi fails to enter EDL mode.

If this happens, do the following:

1. Download and extract the file fastboot_edl.7z;
2. Place (replace) extracted files in c:\adb;
3. Run (double click) edl.cmd file as follows:
Fastboot oem edl input failed

4. Mobile Phone enters EDL mode when smartphone screen is dead.

Read article 6 How to enter Xiaomi EDL Emergency Boot Mode (Snapdragon) for more information.

    Note :
  • For Redmi4X and Xiaomi released in 2017 and later, you cannot enter EDL mode before unlocking the bootloader. So the step that needs to be done is the test point
