Installing (GApps) Google Play Store using TWRP Recovery

Google Play Store (GApps ) is usually not available for custom ROMs like LineAgeOS or Resurrection Remix due to copyright restrictions. do not really understand the rights that purposefully create.

In addition to custom ROMs, MIUI China ROMs also do not come pre-installed with Google Play Store, like the original ROMs of Mi4C, Mi 5C, Redmi Note 3 MTK and several other Xiaomi variants.

The lack of Google Play Store or Google Apps will definitely cause problems for Xiaomi users in Indonesia as well.

So to install Google Play Store you can use:

TWRP for custom ROM users; or
Google Installer 2.0 app for Chinese ROM users.

But in this article I will only cover how to install Google Play Store using TWRP. If you don't have TWRP yet, check out this article on how to install TWRP. If you already have it, continue reading this article.

How to Installing Google Play Store

Required Materials:

Open GApps Project (Download Google Apps according to your Xiaomi type.)

If you are not sure about the CPU architecture and based on your Xiaomi Android device, please download the following CPU-X app:

CPU_X1.10.apk - 6 MB

Then install as usual and then open the CPU-X app. ;

Example: Using

CPU-X I got the following information on my Mi4C:

Instruction » arm64-v8a;
Version » 7.1

.. so my choice is:

In the Variation option, you can choose anything from Pico to Super, which basically means that the higher the Google app, the more complete it is, of course, and the bigger the file size.

Installation steps:

1. After the download is finished, move the downloaded open_gapps-xxx.zip file to Xiaomi internal memory;

2. Then turn off the smartphone and enter TWRP;

3. After entering TWRP, select Install and then select the GApps you downloaded earlier.

4. Then swipe right under "Swipe to Confirm Flash";

5. Wait for the process to finish and then reboot the system.

6. The smartphone restarts and goes to the main menu.

Then...!

Now Google Play Store is installed on your Android phone...
